Gang behind fake marriage and robbery arrested in Lahore
The police have arrested a 4-member gang involved in robbing people while posing as a bride after a fake marriage.
The crackdown against criminal elements in Punjab is ongoing, during which the Organized Crime Unit of Defence arrested a 4-member gang involved in looting citizens while posing as a bride.
During the operation, the fake bride and the marriage officiant were arrested. The arrested individuals include Sajid Bashir, Muhammad Naeem, Muqaddas Bibi, and Allah Rakhi, one of whom is the ringleader.
According to police officials, the criminals would arrange fake marriages and hold the victim’s family hostage before fleeing with their valuables. The arrested suspects have confessed to multiple incidents, and further investigations are underway.
From the suspects, police have recovered cash, gold jewellery, and bridal dresses. The DSP of the Organized Crime Unit of Defence stated that the suspects were arrested through professional skills and public relations efforts.
