The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has revised the Geology degree curricula to align with the latest advancements in the field, ensuring academic programs meet industry demands and global trends.

A two-day consultative session, led by Prof. Dr. Mumtaz Muhammad Shah, was held at the HEC Regional Center in Lahore, bringing together geology experts and senior faculty members from universities across Pakistan.

The revised curricula for Associate Degree, Bachelor of Science, and Master of Science in Geology focus on bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical applications, incorporating modern technologies such as artificial intelligence, computational modeling, and geospatial analytics.

New specialised courses, including AI & Computational Geology, have been introduced to equip students with advanced technological skills relevant to contemporary geological research and industry practices.T

The revised curricula will be circulated to universities nationwide for implementation once formally approved by HEC management.
