Balochistan Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan has announced that the government will soon make 2,975 non-functional schools operational through Sardar Bahadur Khan Women's University SBK and contract-based hiring.
He reaffirmed that education remains the government's top priority, with a record budget allocated for the sector.
He also emphasized the commitment to implementing Article 25-A of the Constitution, ensuring free and compulsory education for all children.
During a high-level briefing, it was revealed that 6,125 teachers were found absent across the province. In response, authorities have taken strict action, resulting in 372 terminations, 267 suspensions, 1,124 show-cause notices, and 161 warnings.
Meanwhile, 727 previously non-operational schools have already been restored.
The CS also directed officials to strengthen healthcare services, ensuring an uninterrupted supply of medicines in hospitals. Additionally, he ordered strict price monitoring of essential commodities and urged Deputy Commissioners to prevent road blockades during protests to maintain public order.
Balochistan's government is actively working to enhance education, healthcare, and public welfare, utilizing all available resources for sustainable progress.
