Jhon Duran is set to leave Aston Villa after agreeing to a £64m transfer to Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr. The Colombian striker will undergo a medical in London today, as reported by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

Duran, 20, had been subject to a rejected bid from West Ham United earlier, but Villa now stands to profit from a significant offer from Al Nassr.

Villa manager Unai Emery addressed the situation after the club’s Champions League win over Celtic, expressing that if Duran leaves, it would be a good move financially for the club.

"If Jhon Durán is leaving it is good for us, because they are paying good money… we have developed good players in two years and getting a good offer," Emery said.

He added, “I told you after West Ham, I want Jhon here. But what does he want?”

Duran’s departure comes just after Aston Villa’s 4-2 victory over Celtic, which secured their automatic qualification to the Champions League knockout stages.

The move also follows an eventful transfer period for Villa, with teammate Ollie Watkins being the subject of a £60m bid from Arsenal, which was quickly rejected.

The transfer news has caught many by surprise, given Duran's electric form earlier in the season. The Columbian striker has 12 goals in 29 appearances this season.

He has also scored crucial late winning goals off the bench, with many proclaiming Duran as the ultimate 'super-sub' this season.

As the transfer window nears its close, Villa appears set for a key reshuffle, with both Duran and Watkins linked to big-money moves.
