Security Update: FC personnel in Orangi Town

KARACHI: The authorities deployed Frontier Constabulary (FC) troops in Orangi Town on Wednesday night in order to maintain the law and order situation. Nearly 110 FC personnel have taken up key posts in Kati Pahari, Mohammad Pur, Banaras, Qazzafi Chowk, Islamia Colony, Qasba Colony and Pirabad along with the police and rangers. Orangi Town police station DSP Bahauddin Babar said that initially 210 FC personnel had been sent to Orangi Town and a further 600 were expected to be deployed in the remaining sensitive areas. He added that the police and FC personnel were working under the supervision of area’s SHO. The police claim that nearly 3,500 FC personnel have been stationed in Karachi and are expected to be deputed in other sensitive parts of the city including Quaidabad, Landhi, Malir, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Saddar and Lyari.
