Blood donations decline in the fasting month of Ramazan prompting philanthropic organisations working for thalassemia patients to stock up transfusion supplies before hand.
The Kashif Iqbal Thalassemia Centre (KITC) organised a daylong blood donation camp at Makli's Makhdoom Hashim Thattvi Park to address the blood shortage faced by thalassemia patients during the holy month of Ramazan. Some 200 bottles of blood was collected at the camp, thanks to the efforts of young donors.
The blood camp was organised in anticipation of a decline in blood donations during Ramazan, a recurring issue that puts the lives of children suffering from thalassemia at risk.
