RAWALPINDI:

Expressing reservations over financial corruption in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, (K-P), PTI founder Imran Khan has given a 45-day deadline to Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to mend things in the province.

The PTI founder expressed his reservations during an unusual meeting with K-P Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur at Adiala Jail on Monday.

During the meeting, Imran Khan cited the report of Accountability Committee presented by senior lawyer Qazi Anwar. The report unearthed corrupt practices committed by government officers in different departments and ministries.

The PTI founder gave K-P Chief Minister Gandapur a 45-day deadline to bring improvement in the province's affairs. He also advised the CM to adopt zero tolerance policy against corruption.

Meanwhile, talking to media outside Adiala Jail, PTI lawyer Muhammad Faisal Malik said the statement of another witness was recorded on Wednesday in the GHQ attack case. The case basically carries charges of conspiracy. The prosecution has not yet furnished any documents or evidence over the planning of the May 9 events. However, the prosecution told the court that it would submit USBs, adding, "We requested the court to provide copies of prosecution evidence."

In addition, speaking outside Adiala Jail, Leader of the Opposition in Senate Shibli Faraz said the PECA Act is an attempt to suppress the truth. PTI walked out of the National Assembly against the legislation.

The government is against the judicial commission because it could bring the truth to the fore, causing severe damage to the incumbent government, said Shibli. He said handpicked judges are being inducted in the judiciary to deprive PTI of justice.

He said an environment is being created to appoint judges of choice so that PTI and its founder could not get justice. Shibli asserted that the verdict of Al-Qadir Trust case showed that the sentences were being given under a specific agenda.
