Texas man caught on video using three-month-old baby to wipe snow off car, faces possible charges

A 25-year-old man from Port Arthur, Texas, is under police investigation after a viral TikTok video showed him using a three-month-old baby to wipe snow off a car during last week’s winter storm. The shocking footage, which has since been deleted, captured the man laughing as he slid the infant across the windshield of a Hyundai Elantra, treating the child as a makeshift snow scraper.

Port Arthur Police Chief Tim Duriso confirmed that the incident occurred at the O.W. Collins Elderly Apartments on January 21. “We confirmed that it was a three-month-old baby,” Duriso said. The man, whose identity has not been released, was reportedly accompanied by two women at the time, one of whom is believed to be the child’s mother. “They checked on the baby. The baby was just fine,” Duriso added, noting that the child remains in the parent’s custody.

Police are currently reviewing the man’s criminal history as they determine whether to file charges. The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office is expected to issue an arrest warrant for child endangerment in the coming week. “It’s a sad situation. I know a lot of people go to social media and they are looking for clicks… but this is not a deal where you should put a baby on the windshield,” Duriso stated.

The video has sparked intense debate online, with many users calling for the man to face legal consequences. “I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw this. He should not be allowed near any child,” one commenter wrote. Others expressed shock at how far people will go for social media attention. “This is horrible, and anybody who thinks this is remotely funny is sick in the head,” another added.

However, some online users have speculated that the baby in the video may have been a doll rather than a real child. “Obviously, he dressed a doll up in baby clothes and did this,” one person claimed. Despite the debate, law enforcement officials have confirmed the baby was real and are taking the case seriously.
