Madonna has publicly criticized Donald Trump’s administration for what she perceives as an ongoing effort to dismantle the freedoms that marginalized communities have fought for.
The pop icon expressed her frustration on social media, voicing her concerns about the Trump administration’s anti-LGBTQ+ agenda. “It’s so sad to watch our new Government slowly dismantling all the Freedoms we have been fighting for and WON over the years,” Madonna wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter, urging followers to continue fighting for equality.

Her comments come in the wake of Trump signing an executive order titled “Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness,” which reinstates a ban on transgender individuals serving openly in the U.S. military. This move reverses a policy set by President Joe Biden in 2021, allowing transgender people to enlist and serve without restrictions.
GLAAD President Sarah Kate Ellis also condemned the policy, highlighting that transgender people are already serving with honor in the military and contribute to national security. Additionally, Trump’s first week in office saw the rollback of diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, which provided marginalized groups with crucial opportunities.
Madonna’s call for action is echoed by other public figures, including Selena Gomez, who has voiced her distress over the administration’s approach to deportation and its impact on immigrant communities. Both artists continue to stand in solidarity with those fighting for justice and equality.
