Pakistani cricketer Shadab Khan has finally addressed the allegations made by TikTok star Shahtaj Khan regarding their purported relationship.
The controversy began in September 2024 when Shahtaj claimed that she had been in contact with Shadab via WhatsApp and Instagram for several months.
Shadab, who married Saqlain Mushtaq's daughter in January 2023, recently appeared on a comedy show on a private TV channel where he was asked about such claims, particularly from actresses who often allege that cricketers send them messages. The host questioned whether these claims were factual or merely rumors.
Shadab responded candidly, saying, "I think even if they do, what’s wrong with it? If you don’t like it, don’t answer, ignore it.” He added, "If she responds, it means she’s also interested in the conversation."
The all-rounder also said that many of these claims, especially those emerging during cricket tournaments, are often exaggerated for attention. "There’s nothing like what’s being claimed," he stated. "These things are often just said to gain fame."
Shadab admitted that cricketers often joke about such rumors amongst themselves, humorously asking each other, "Who sent that message?"
The controversy took a new turn when Shahtaj Khan appeared on the show hosted by Mathira, where she shared her admiration for Shadab and revealed how she had traveled to Lahore to watch his matches. She also expressed disappointment when Shadab got married, claiming that it hurt her deeply.
Following Shadab's marriage, Shahtaj reportedly criticised him during a private conversation with friends, which was later leaked and went viral, stirring up reactions from Shadab’s fans.
