Pakistan's Test captain, Shan Masood, responded to a question about his authority in decision-making during a press conference following the team's defeat in the second Test.

The West Indies secured a commanding 120-run victory over Pakistan in the second Test in Multan on day three, leveling the series 1-1.

Pakistan had won the first Test in Multan by 127 runs.

Jomel Warrican was the standout performer, taking nine wickets in the match and a total of 19 wickets in the series. His outstanding spin bowling gave Pakistan a taste of their own medicine on the sharply turning pitches.

In a post-match press conference, a journalist asked whether Masood would make his own decisions or if the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) would decide on his behalf.

Initially, Masood dismissed the question, saying "Next question." However, he later provided a more detailed response, stating, "I'm focused on the present and future of the team, not past events."

Masood challenged the accuracy of the journalist's assumption, saying, "If you want to discuss facts, I'm happy to engage, but your information is incorrect."

The captain emphasized the importance of mutual respect, saying, "Let's maintain professionalism in our questioning and give respect to the players."

Regarding the decision-making process, Masood clarified, "The PCB is responsible for making decisions, and all decisions, including mine, are accepted by everyone."

Masood reaffirmed his commitment to representing Pakistan, saying, "We play for our country and institution, and we're dedicated to bringing results."

He expressed dissatisfaction with the tone of the question, saying, "The question was insulting and attempted to undermine someone's authority."

Masood advised the journalist to be better prepared, saying, "Conduct research before asking questions, and feel free to share your opinions."

The captain concluded by highlighting the team's achievements, saying, "We've won three out of four matches, and our dedication and hard work have paid off."
