Vast stretches of forests in the picturesque hills of Murree and Galyat are engulfed in raging wildfires, with thick plumes of smoke visible during the day and fiery flames lighting up the night sky.
The fires, which have intensified in areas like Pahphriyal and Misyari, have already destroyed thousands of lush green trees, shrubs, and native plants.
Wildlife and natural habitats are also suffering irreparable damage.
The forest fires have sparked concern among the locals and conservationists.
Rescue 1122 teams, alongside personnel from the forest department and local volunteers, are battling the flames.
However, their efforts are hindered by the remote and rugged terrain, which poses significant challenges to firefighting operations. At night, the glowing flames can be seen from miles away.
