Usman Club defeated Karachi Colts by 39-32 points while Aram Bagh Club defeated Titans Club by 42-39 points in the 8th Commissioner Karachi Basketball Tournament being held at International Abdul Nasir Basketball Court, Aram Bagh.
In the the first match, Mubariz Ahmed scored 22 points for winners Usman Club with the help of 4 three-pointers. Saleh Ahmed and Hamza Khawaja scored 8 and 6 points.
For the runners-up Karachi Colts, Razin scored 12, Ayan Ali scored 10 and Yahya Bhatti scored 8 points.
In the second match, Daniyal Khan Marwat scored 16 points and Zain Channa scored 14 for winners Arambagh Club. Muhammad Abdullah Khan scored 10 points.
For the runners-up team Titans Club, Ghazanfar Ali scored 16, Yahya Khan scored 9 and Zoha Ali scored 9 points.
The tournament is being held with the permission of KBBA, and under the supervision of Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi.
The girls event will start on Sunday at 2 pm. At the start of the matches yesterday, Asad Shakir of Qaumi Akhbar Group was the special guest and was introduced to the players.
Asad Shakir announced on the occasion that his group will provide all kinds of support for basketball and after Eid-ul-Fitr, Qaumi Akhbar Group will also sponsor the Karachi, Hyderabad, Mirpur Khas Boys and Girls Basketball Series.
Ghulam Muhammad Khan, Asghar Baloch, Abdul Hameed Baloch, Maimuna Iqbal, Sheikh Shakeel Ilyas, Sheikh Aqeel Ahmed and other personalities were also present on the occasion.
