Security forces killed 30 terrorists during three separate counter-terrorism operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Saturday.
According to a statement issued by the military's media wing, the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Lakki Marwat district.
"After the troops effectively engaged the terrorists at their location, eighteen Khwarij were killed, while six others were injured," the statement added.
In another operation in District Karak, security forces engaged militants following intelligence reports. During the ensuing exchange of fire, eight Khwarij were neutralized.
The third encounter occurred in the general area of Bagh, Khyber District, where security forces successfully eliminated four Khwarij, including notorious ring leaders Aziz ur Rehman, also known as Qari Ismail, and Mukhlis. Two additional militants were injured in the operation.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants, who were allegedly involved in numerous terrorist activities targeting security forces and innocent civilians in the region.
Security forces have vowed to continue their operations to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the area, reaffirming their commitment to eradicating terrorism and restoring peace to Pakistan.
In 2024, the Pakistan Army conducted a record 59,775 intelligence-based operations, eliminating 925 terrorists, including 73 high-value targets—the highest number of neutralised militants in five years.
