ISLAMABAD:

The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) has suspended one of its key office-bearers — Secretary Salman Mansoor — who had filed a petition against the 26th Constitutional Amendment without approval of the body.

According to sources, the suspension was approved during the SCBA Executive Committee meeting. They said Mansoor misused his position in violation of the association's rules, adding that he had previously been warned.

Salman Mansoor had filed a constitutional petition against the 26th Constitutional Amendment in his capacity as secretary without obtaining the necessary approval.
