PESHAWAR:

The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) government and the governor have been at loggerheads over the provincial government's bid to transfer the chancellorship of public universities to the Chief Minister.

The governor has started consultations with a legal team for possible legal action in that regard.

According to Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, he will also exercise other options available to him to deal with the provincial government.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had amended the University Act, transferring the authority to appoint vice chancellors from the governor to the chief minister.
