Big Brother Mzansi Season 5 housemate Ashley Ogle has faced significant backlash after a video of her addressing fellow contestants went viral. 

The controversy started when Ashley used terms like “black people,” which some viewers interpreted as racist. However, others defended her, pointing out that her housemates had also used terms like "coloured" and "mlungu." This sparked a heated debate on social media, with fans divided over whether Ashley’s remarks were racist or misunderstood. Many called for more context and education on the issue.

The situation escalated when Ashley got into a verbal altercation with fan-favorite Mshini. What began as a heated exchange quickly became more intense, with Ashley insulting Mshini’s English and making offensive remarks about her mother. This shift from a playful argument to a more hostile confrontation led to fans labeling Ashley as a “mean girl.”

Ashley’s comments took another problematic turn when she repeatedly referred to fellow housemate Kay B as “the rape girl” after Kay B shared her traumatic story with the group. This insensitive comment drew further outrage, with many accusing Ashley of being a “rape apologist.”
