Blackpink's Jennie announces solo debut album 'Ruby', features include Dua Lipa, Doechii and more
Earlier today, ODDATELIER Entertainment announced that Blackpink member Jennie will be releasing her debut solo album Ruby on March 7. Following Rosé's rosie which came out in December last year and Lisa's Alter Ego which is slated for release next month, Jennie is the third member of the group to come out with her solo debut album.
The album consists of 15 tracks in total, including the single "Mantra" which was released in October 2024. Additionally, Ruby features collaborations with top western artists including Childish Gambino, Doechii, Dominic Fike, Dua Lipa, FKJ, and Kali Uchis, heightening fans' excitement for the album.
Already well-established in the Korean industry that she started from, Jennie now aims to break into the western music scene. Her single "Mantra", topped iTunes Top Songs charts in 47 countries and regions, including the United States, Brazil, Singapore, the Philippines, and Mexico and also entered the Billboard Hot 100 for two consecutive weeks, making Jennie the first K-pop female soloist to claim the number one spot on the U.S. iTunes Top Songs chart.
Although this is her first full solo album, Jennie has been releasing personal projects since 2018 when she came out with "SOLO". Since then she has released "You & Me" in 2023 and collaborated with Zico on "SPOT!" last year. In 2023, she made her Hollywood debut in the HBO series The Idol alongside The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp.
Jennie also makes headlines in the fashion industry as a brand ambassador for french fashion house Chanel.
Apart from her album, Jennie has been announced as a solo performer at the iconic Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival on April 13th and 20th in Indio, California.
