Leave us alone: Kareena
After a harrowing week following her husband Saif Ali Khan's injuries during a home invasion, Bollywood superstar Kareena Kapoor Khan has had enough. Taking to social media, Kareena has appealed to Indian media to allow the family to navigate their trauma in private.
"Stop this now. Have a heart. Leave us alone. For God's sake," wrote Kareena on her Instagram Stories yesterday as she reshared a now-deleted video, as per The Indian Express.
According to the publication, the video showed people bringing toys to the star couple's residence. The text accompanying the clip read, "New toys arrive for Taimur and Jeh at their residence." The thumbnail of the video also had a picture of Saif with sons Taimur and Jeh.
Whilst neither the image nor the video is on Kareena's IG Story any longer, this is not the first time this week the Bollywood star has addressed her fans and followers to respect the family's privacy.
Last Thursday, mere hours after reports emerged that Saif had been stabbed and had been operated upon to treat his injuries, Kareena turned to her Instagram to appeal to both her fans and the media.
"It has been an incredibly challenging day for our family, and we are still trying to process the events that have unfolded," wrote Kareena at the time. "As we navigate this difficult time, I respectfully and humbly request that the media and paparazzi refrain from the relentless speculation and coverage.
Kareena acknowledged the wealth of concern emanating from the couple's fans but also highlighted the risk posed by being placed under the spotlight.
"While we appreciate the concern and support, the constant scrutiny and attention are not only overwhelming but also pose a significant risk to our safety," she continued.
Reiterating her earlier plea, Kareena added, "I kindly request that you respect our boundaries and give us the space we need to heal and cope as a family. I would like to thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation during this sensitive time."
As per earlier reports, the attack on Saif occurred during the early hours of last Thursday, during what police have described as a failed robbery attempt. The actor was stabbed six times, sustaining multiple injuries, including two deep wounds on his back and a minor cut on his neck. He is reported to be out of danger. A man thought to be a Bangladeshi citizen has been apprehended in Mumbai in connection with the attack.
