Jost began by mocking Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, referencing his meeting with former President Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago. The joke, "Meta CEO and Puerto Rican gigolo Mark Zuckerberg flew down to Mar-a-Lago to meet with Donald Trump... and boy are his knees tired," referenced Zuckerberg’s controversial moves with Facebook, which critics argue align with Trump’s views.
Jost also poked fun at Trump’s new inaugural portrait, joking about the former president’s attempt to appear tough in the image: "Trump is trying to look so hardcore in this photo, I’m surprised he didn’t add a parental advisory sticker and a durag."

Meanwhile, Michael Che took aim at President Joe Biden’s recent farewell address and bicycle incident. He joked about Biden’s negotiations over the Israel-Hamas ceasefire, quipping that the hardest part was convincing both sides that he was still the president. Che also made light of Biden’s exit from office, joking that he “triumphantly rode off into the pavement” after a bike crash.
Che received significant applause for his quip about Bill Clinton, after it was announced a Navy aircraft carrier would be named in Clinton’s honor. "The carrier will also honor Bill Clinton by being covered in seamen," Che said, drawing laughter from the crowd.
The Weekend Update segment highlighted the comedic duo’s trademark irreverence, offering humor on the state of American politics.
