Lauren Sanchez, fiancée of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, found herself at the center of controversy following her bold fashion choice at the 2025 inauguration of President Donald Trump. Sanchez, 55, wore a white Alexander McQueen pantsuit that featured a low-cut, satin-trimmed blazer and wide-leg trousers. Opting for a risqué twist, she chose not to wear a traditional blouse, instead flaunting a white lace bustier beneath her blazer, paired with a fuzzy coat to stay warm in the chilly weather.

Her outfit, valued at over $1,800, quickly garnered attention online, with many critics taking to social media to voice their displeasure. "Jeff Bezos' future wife Lauren Sanchez is incredibly inappropriately dressed for a state occasion," one user wrote on X. "Someone should have told her that having her white lace bra out on display is not acceptable." Another chimed in, "Good grief, Lauren Sanchez. Put them away for one day."

Some commenters were more harsh, with one person noting, "Really, a bra plainly visible? Today is NOT a night club event. Show some class & dignity." Others humorously remarked on her revealing look, with one user quipping, "Maybe she can get one from Amazon same day shipping."

In contrast, others defended Sanchez’s fashion choice, with some even comparing her to First Lady Melania Trump, who wore a more traditional and modest navy Adam Lippes coat to the event. "Just when I was luxuriating in the beauty and class of @FLOTUS45, in walks Lauren Sanchez wearing only a bra," one user noted.

Sanchez was accompanied by her billionaire partner Jeff Bezos, who donned a suit with an oxblood tie. The couple was also joined by other high-profile figures, including Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who was notably seated next to Sanchez. Zuckerberg’s attention seemed to fall on Sanchez’s outfit, sparking additional comments on social media. "Zuckerberg was out of control ogling Jeff Bezos’ fiancée!" one user exclaimed, while another joked, "This is the most normal thing I have ever seen Zuckerberg do."

Fashion historian Summer Anne Lee from the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) expressed her surprise at the outfit, calling it a first for inauguration fashion history. "I gasped when I saw it," Lee said. "I imagine this revealing lingerie moment has got to be a 'first' in inauguration fashion history, even if she is just an attendee and not a part of the ceremony."

Sanchez’s bold appearance at the inauguration comes just months after Bezos proposed to her in May 2023. Although the couple has yet to announce wedding plans, Sanchez hinted at preparations during a recent interview on the "Today" show.

The inaugural event also saw other tech titans, including Zuckerberg, Sundar Pichai, Tim Cook, and Elon Musk, who were seated in the Capitol Rotunda as Trump took the oath of office for his second term.
