Director Yasir Nawaz, known for helming hit dramas like Chup Raho and films like Wrong No. and Wrong No.2, recently made headlines with his comments about actor Feroze Khan.
Appearing on Ushna Shah’s talk show After Hours, Yasir discussed his role in Feroze’s rise to fame and other industry insights.
During the candid conversation, Yasir claimed, "I launched Feroze Khan’s career," alluding that he deserves recognition for bringing the actor into the limelight. The director revealed that it was his decision to cast Feroze in the 2014 drama Chup Raho alongside Sajal Aly.

Yasir explained that Feroze was suggested to him by someone when he was merely working as a VJ and had no prior acting experience. Despite this, Yasir said he saw potential in him and decided to take the risk. "I am the one who gave the world a star," he stated firmly.
While Yasir’s statements highlight his belief in discovering talent, it remains to be seen how Feroze Khan will respond.
Back in 2021, Yasir Nawaz faced backlash after publicly criticising Alizeh Shah, a TikTok star turned actor, during another talk show.
Yasir and his wife Nida revealed that working with Alizeh on a project was challenging due to a lack of chemistry and professionalism. The director’s remarks didn’t sit well with Feroze, who defended Alizeh on social media.
At the time, Feroze said, "Grown artists should not belittle a newcomer like this." His defence of Alizeh hinted at a clash of opinions between him and Yasir, raising questions about how he might perceive Yasir’s latest claim.
Yasir Nawaz’s comments about discovering Feroze Khan have sparked a debate among fans and industry insiders. Is Yasir right to take credit for Feroze’s early success, or should Feroze’s hard work and talent speak for itself?
