A private airline’s flight travelling from Lahore to Jeddah made an unscheduled landing at Karachi airport late Monday night due to a fuel shortage, according to airport officials.

The flight, PA 470, carrying over 150 passengers, was en route to Saudi Arabia when it was suddenly diverted to Karachi to address the issue. The aircraft, an Airbus A320, landed safely, and refuelling operations were promptly initiated.

Passengers were instructed to remain on board during the refuelling process. Sources indicate that the decision to divert the flight was taken as a precautionary measure to ensure passenger safety.

Following the refuelling, the aircraft resumed its journey to Jeddah without further incident. Aviation authorities have confirmed that all standard protocols were followed during the emergency landing.

Earlier in December, an Indian airline flight en route from New Delhi to Jeddah made an emergency landing at Karachi's Jinnah International Airport after a passenger fell ill, the Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA) said.

The IndiGo flight, identified as flight number 6E63 and operating an Airbus A321-271NX, landed at 10:54pm under "medical emergency" conditions, according to a PAA statement.

The statement said that the ill passenger was "immediately provided with medicines", following which the person's condition saw improvement.
