YouTube sensation Jimmy ‘MrBeast’ Donaldson has officially entered the race to purchase TikTok after the app narrowly avoided a U.S. shutdown.

TikTok faced a potential ban on January 19, the deadline set by former President Joe Biden for ByteDance to sell its shares or face U.S. restrictions. However, the app was temporarily saved by an executive order from President Donald Trump.

On January 20, MrBeast uploaded a TikTok video from a private jet, announcing that he was on his way to make an official bid for the popular platform. “TikTok, I’m on a private jet right now about to put in my official offer for this platform,” he said. “I might become you guys’ new CEO. I’m super excited.”

Although the details of his bid remain under wraps, MrBeast’s confirmation has sparked excitement among his fans. As YouTube’s most-subscribed creator, the prospect of him owning TikTok has generated significant buzz across social media.

MrBeast had previously hinted at his interest in acquiring TikTok earlier this month. On January 14, he revealed he was in discussions with several billionaires about the purchase. By January 15, he confirmed he had an official offer ready, stating he “means business.”

With TikTok’s future hanging in the balance, the potential acquisition by MrBeast could mark a historic moment for the video-sharing platform and its millions of users. Fans now eagerly await the outcome of this ambitious move from one of the internet’s biggest stars.
