An assailant killed by guards of former MPA and tribal chief Mir Ghalib Hussain Khan Domki during an exchange of fire in Rustam area of Shikarpur district on Sunday night has turned out to be a wanted outlaw carrying a headmoney.
The Shikarpur police on Monday identified the slain bandit as Nadir Mirani, who carries a Rs2 million bounty.
The Shikarpur police launched an operation in Rustam town of the district in reaction to attack on the vehicles of the ex-MPA which took lives of his two guards besides leaving himself, his wife and granddaughter injured. The raid was conducted in the villages Sultan Kamalani and Somaar Badaani.
Mirani's was recovered from a graveyard in Sultan Kamalani. The police disinterred his body from the grave and shifted it to taluka hospital Khanpur for medico legal formalities. A search operation was also carried out in Somaar Badaani where three persons, Anwar Badani, his son Shabbir and Rind Badani were injured.
But the injured persons escaped from the village along with other suspects. Domki, his wife and granddaughter are under treatment at Ziauddin Hospital in Sukkur district. Meanwhile, the funeral prayer of Salar Domki and Mahar Domki, who were killed in the attack, was offered in their native village Bakshapur on Monday.
Domki served as the MPA from 2008 to 2013. He was elected on a ticket of Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid. He contested the 2018 general elections as a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. Domki was attacked when he was travelling from Sukkur to Bakshapur. Around 10 armed bandits signalled his vehicle to stop but another vehicle of his guards following Domki's double-cab engaged the bandits in an exchange of fire.
