Seven-year-old Sarim was subjected to rape and murder according to initial reports from police surgeon. The revelation has emerged in the case of Sarim, a resident of North Karachi apartment building, who went missing on January seven.
SSP Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) Anil Haider confirmed that the police report revealed Sarim was raped, and his neck bone was also found broken. The report stated that Sarim was strangled to death.
Police Surgeon Dr Summaiya Syed confirmed the initial report, stating that while the chemical examination report is still pending, the preliminary report suggests Sarim was raped and murdered by strangulation.
Sarim was a student of a local seminary and went missing on January seven while returning home from madrassah with his brother. His father filed a missing person's report with the Bilal Colony police, which led to a search operation in the apartment and surrounding areas.
On January 18, Sarim's body was found in the underground water tank of the apartment building. The AVCC police arrested a suspect, Azhar, and seized some evidence, which is being sent for chemical examination.
Sarim, the middle child, now a memory forever etched in the hearts of his grieving parents, who are left with their remaining two sons.
