Lewis Hamilton has arrived at Ferrari’s Maranello factory to begin preparations for the 2025 F1 season. This marks the beginning of his new chapter as a Ferrari driver, ending a long partnership with Mercedes. Almost a year after announcing the switch, Hamilton’s arrival is an exciting milestone for both him and the team.
In a post shared on Instagram, Hamilton posed outside the office once used by Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari. He described the moment as unforgettable, writing, “Today, my first as a Ferrari driver, is one of those days. I’ve been lucky enough to achieve things I never thought possible, but part of me has always held on to that dream of racing in red.” He continued, “I couldn’t be happier to realize that dream today. Today we start a new era in the history of this iconic team.”
With his first official visit to Maranello complete, Hamilton is gearing up for his first on-track experience as a Ferrari driver. He will first take the wheel of the F1-75 car from 2022 at the team’s Fiorano test track, a typical preseason wake-up test to get back up to speed. His pre-season schedule will also include a private test at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya next week.
Hamilton’s new team will unveil their F1 2025 car, codenamed Project 677, on February 19, followed by a three-day pre-season test in Bahrain from February 26-28. The 2025 F1 season will kick off with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on March 16, marking the start of an exciting new era for Hamilton and Ferrari.
