Elon Musk and the MAGA crowd have wasted no time in taking shots at Snoop Dogg after the rapper's recent alignment with multiple pro-Trump inauguration events. Snoop, along with Rick Ross, Soulja Boy, and Nelly, found themselves facing a significant backlash for their support, with many accusing them of abandoning their previous stance for political or financial gain.

Snoop Dogg, once a staunch critic of Trump, even calling those who supported his first inauguration "c-words" back in 2017, is now in hot water for switching sides as Trump prepares for a second term. The backlash has been swift and severe, with fans calling him out for flip-flopping, and some expressing their disappointment in his change of heart.

Elon Musk didn't hold back, stating, "The vibe shift is real," adding to the growing chorus of criticism directed at the rapper. Many feel that if Snoop Dogg had supported Trump from the beginning, at least it would have been consistent. However, they argue, the sudden change in allegiance after taking such a strong stand previously stings.

Social media comments have been unforgiving, with many calling Snoop Dogg out for selling out, with remarks like, “It takes no courage to come out and support someone after they [Trump] won.” Others have said they refuse to support him anymore, accusing him of influencing young people negatively with his past messages on smoking weed and disrespecting women.

Despite the criticism, Nelly and Rick Ross are also facing some heat for their involvement in the pro-Trump events. However, some argue that Nelly has never really represented any particular cause, and Rick Ross claimed he was only attending a private event and not directly supporting Trump.

For Snoop Dogg, this shift in allegiance has been a wake-up call that even icons aren’t exempt from scrutiny. As the people’s champion and a symbol of West Coast hip-hop, the fallout has been particularly sharp. While no one can truly know what’s in Snoop Dogg’s heart, his sudden flip-flop has raised questions about principles versus pressure or financial motivation.

“Real Gs stand firm in their square—rain or shine,” said one social media user, reflecting the sentiment of many who feel betrayed by the change in allegiance. If Snoop Dogg was ready to make this move, many argue, he should own it and accept the consequences that come with it.
