Jessica Alba has announced her separation from husband Cash Warren after 16 years of marriage. In an Instagram post on Thursday, the 43-year-old actress shared that the decision comes as part of a journey of "self-realisation and transformation," both individually and as a couple.

The couple, who met on the set of Fantastic Four in 2004, share three children: Honor (16), Haven (13), and Hayes (7). Alba emphasised their commitment to co-parenting and maintaining a strong family bond despite the split.

"We are moving forward with love, kindness, and respect for each other and will forever be family. Our children remain our highest priority, and we request privacy at this time," Alba wrote.

Rumours confirmed

Speculation about the state of their marriage had grown earlier this month after Alba, known for her roles in Trigger Warning and Fantastic Four, did not publicly mark Warren’s 46th birthday on 10 January, as she has done in previous years.

The announcement follows Alba’s recent life changes, including stepping down as chief creative officer of The Honest Company, the personal care brand she founded 12 years ago.

Looking back on their relationship

The couple celebrated their 16th wedding anniversary last May, with Alba posting a heartfelt tribute to their decades-long relationship. "There is no real set of rules or guidance that can ever prepare you for what it means to commit to another person and choose to be family," she wrote at the time.

As the couple navigates this transition, Alba expressed pride in their shared growth and gratitude for the time spent together.
