CAA issues first written NOTAM for the purpose

KARACHI:

The much-anticipated New Gwadar International Airport - a key facility offering air access to global markets - is set to become operational on January 20, according to the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

The CAA has issued the first written NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) in this regard.

The airport will enhance Pakistan's connectivity, offering additional access to the UAE, Europe, Far East, Central Asia and Africa.

The New Gwadar International Airport, covering 4,300 acres, is Pakistan's largest airport. It features a 12,000-foot-long and 246-meter-wide runway. It is capable of accommodating large aircraft such as the Airbus A380. The airport will also support refueling and cargo operations for over 50 airlines daily.
