LAHORE:

Punjab Assembly lawmakers sharply criticised Lahore Gymkhana's administration for failing to sub-mit its response to the Assembly's special commit-tee.

Treasury members admitted their inability to obtain detailed information about the Gymkhana, expressing frustration over what they deemed a disregard for the Assembly's authority. "It is tantamount to disrespecting this highest fo-rum if Lahore Gymkhana does not respond to the spe-cial committee of the Punjab Assembly," lawmakers stated, urging immediate compliance.

Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, citing the Privileges Act of 1972, warned that the committee has the authority to summon records, and failure to comply constitutes a violation. Speaker Khan assured the House that the necessary records would be submitted by Friday (today).

PML-N MPA Amjad Ali Javed reiterated his concerns, stating that failure to address the Gymkhana issue would prompt a protest.
