Three officers from the Dolphin Police Squad in the federal capital have been dismissed from service following allegations of harassment against a family traveling in a car.
The incident occurred in Sector F-11, prompting a citizen to file a complaint with DIG Syed Ali Raza.
Acting on the complaint, the DIG suspended the officers and ordered an immediate inquiry into the matter.
The investigation revealed that the officers, identified as Aqib, Ali Haider, and Talha, were guilty of misconduct.
The inquiry report, submitted to DIG Raza, detailed how the officers harassed the family, used various tactics to blackmail them during a vehicle search, and unjustifiably detained them for an extended period, causing undue distress.
Following the findings, the DIG dismissed the three officers from their positions.
DIG Syed Ali Raza issued a stern warning to all federal police officers and personnel, emphasizing that abuse of power would not be tolerated.
He reiterated that the police must act as true servants of the public, ensuring the safety and security of citizens' lives and property.
He assured that internal accountability within the federal police would remain strict and that any officer failing to maintain professional conduct with the public would face severe departmental action.
This dismissal comes in the wake of other recent disciplinary actions by DIG Raza.
A few days earlier, he penalised four police station SHOs by freezing two to three years of their service, demoted two Dolphin Squad inspectors to sub-inspectors, and downgraded a squad head constable to constable. Additionally, another head constable, Hassan Maqsood, was terminated from service.
The recent actions reflect the federal police's commitment to maintaining accountability and ensuring that officers uphold the values of integrity and public service.
