Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell, former stars of 'The Bachelor', have officially ended their four-year relationship.
The couple, who met on the show’s 25th season in 2020, shared the heartbreaking news with fans through an emotional post by Matt on social media.
On Thursday, Matt, 33, took to Instagram to express his sorrow over the split. In his post, he wrote a heartfelt prayer, asking for strength to cope with the breakup and for peace in their decision to part ways. He added, “Give us a peace about this decision to end our relationship that transcends worldly understanding,” before concluding with a message of hope and kindness for their loved ones.
Matt shared a throwback photo from their first meeting on 'The Bachelor' and tagged Rachael, who is 28. However, he disabled comments on the post. Matt also shared Instagram Stories from London, where he appeared to be spending time alone, surrounded by pizza. Rachael has yet to comment on the breakup on her social media.
While the couple never got engaged, they were openly affectionate on social media, sharing travel adventures and food reviews. Although Matt had not rushed to propose, he had previously expressed that marriage was part of their future, but on their own timeline.
