In a tweet on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, DJ Akademiks appeared to criticize Kendrick Lamar, claiming that streamer Adin Ross had donated $10,000 for a wheelchair and hospital bed to Lamar's family members.
"Adin Ross has donated $10,000 to Kendrick Lamar cousins grandparents who started a gofundme asking for a new hospital bed and wheel chair. Adin Ross doing more for Kendrick family than he is🙏🏽"
DJ Akademiks also shared a video of the supposed relative, Hitta J3, who thanked Adin for the donation and mentioned it was his grandfather's birthday. Akademiks posted another screenshot showing that Ross had contributed $10,000 through GoFundMe.
The tweet quickly gained traction, accumulating over 75.5K views and more than 1,200 likes. Kendrick Lamar’s alleged cousin and singer Hitta J3 had earlier posted a tweet requesting assistance for their grandfather.
The tweet, from January 11, said: "Our grandparents need A Hospital bed & A New wheelchair he can’t walk at all we appreciate everyone doing they’re part to help out together we can Accomplish anything."
The tweet included a GoFundMe link. However, Hitta later clarified that he was not fundraising for his own grandparents.
On January 13, Hitta tweeted again saying: "I told y’all that’s not even my family I’m just realer than most to advertise they are I consider anybody with the same color skin as Family."
As of now, Kendrick Lamar has not responded to the situation.
