22 terrorists killed in Tirah valley operations: ISPR

The operations were conducted on 14 December 2024.

Security forces have killed 22 militants and injured 18 others during Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) in Tirah valley over the past month, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The operations were carried out in response to a series of terrorist incidents targeting civilians and security personnel in the area.

The ISPR highlighted the ongoing nature of these missions, stating that they aim to restore peace and eliminate militant threats in the region.

“In response to these heinous acts, security forces are conducting extensive Intelligence-Based Operations (IBOs) in the area against the Khawrij,” the statement read.

The counter-terrorism measures, described as extensive and intelligence-driven, underscore the military’s determination to stabilise the affected areas.

Earlier on Wednesday, security forces killed four terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan, the military’s media wing said

The operation, conducted overnight between January 14 and 15, targeted the terrorists’ hideout after credible intelligence reports confirmed their presence, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In a heavy exchange of gunfire, four terrorists were neutralised, it said, adding that security forces also recovered a cache of weapons and ammunition from the site.

The ISPR stated that the terrorists were involved in several terrorist activities against security forces and the targeted killings of innocent civilians.
