A District and Sessions court in Lahore has charged two accused in the Ameer Balaj Tipu murder case.

Additional Sessions Judge Asad Hafeez heard the case and charged the accused, Haroon and Sohail Mehmood. The court has summoned witnesses for testimony on February 11.

Gogi Butt, Teefi Butt, and Bilawal have been declared absconders and excluded from the case. The police station in Chuhung had registered the case against the accused.

On February 19, 2024, Ameer Balaj Tipu, the son of Tipu Truckanwala, was killed in a shooting at a wedding ceremony on Lahore Multan Road.

Two others were injured. The gunman of Amir Balaj Tipu fired back, killing the attacker, Muzaffar Hussain, at the scene.

The attack occurred when Ameer Balaj Tipu was leaving the wedding venue while people were busy taking selfies with him.

Earlier, Lahore police uncovered startling details in the murder case of Javed Butt, brother-in-law of Teefi Butt, the prime suspect in the Ameer Balaj murder case.

According to DIG Organised Crime, Imran Kishwar, the arrested shooters revealed during interrogation that the killing had been carried out at the behest of Ameer Masab, son of Tipu Truckanwala.

The shooters, identified as Azhar and Ilyas, confessed that the murder had been a contract killing for which they had been promised Rs500,000 and two valuable houses.

The suspects admitted they had been in contact with Ameer Masab before and after the murder. The link had reportedly been established through Arif, a former employee of Ameer Masab and a resident of Pattoki, who had arranged the shooters' meeting with Masab. Arif, however, remained at large.

Ameer Masab had fled the country six days before Javed Butt’s murder, allegedly as part of a premeditated plan. Despite leaving Pakistan, he had maintained communication with the shooters throughout the execution of the crime, police sources confirmed.
