Brody Jenner recently opened up about his complex relationship with his father, Caitlyn Jenner, reflecting on their difficult past. On the January 15 episode of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, Brody, 41, revealed that while their relationship has improved, they were distant during Brody’s childhood. He recalled feeling abandoned by Caitlyn, who transitioned in 2015, particularly during important moments like birthdays. Brody mentioned his mother often telling him that he would ask, “Why doesn’t dad call me on my birthday?”

Brody explained how his own experience of fatherhood has been shaped by his childhood. He said that Caitlyn's transition and absence made it challenging for him to connect. Now, as a father to a daughter with fiancée Tiarah "Tia" Blanco, Brody is committed to being a better parent. He shared that having his own child in 2023 has changed his perspective, and he’s determined to be fully present for her.

The former The Hills star also discussed his feelings about Keeping Up with the Kardashians, the reality show Caitlyn starred in with Kris Jenner and their daughters, Kendall and Kylie. Brody admitted that the show made him feel “a little bit abandoned” and described the filming of personal moments as “very invasive and not very genuine.” However, he acknowledged that Caitlyn later apologized for not being there during his upbringing, and he said the apology meant a lot to him.

Brody further revealed that learning about Caitlyn’s decision to transition brought clarity to their relationship. He now feels more understanding and is committed to doing things differently as a father, aiming to be as present and involved as possible.
