Conor McGregor, former UFC champion and professional boxer, is being sued by a 49-year-old woman who alleges he sexually assaulted her during an NBA game. The civil lawsuit, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, also names the Miami Heat organization as a defendant.

According to the lawsuit, the incident occurred on June 9, 2023, during the fourth game of the NBA Finals between the Denver Nuggets and Miami Heat at the Kaseya Center. The accuser, identified as a Miami-Dade County resident and vice president of a Wall Street financial institution, claims she was assaulted in a VIP bathroom.

The lawsuit alleges McGregor forced the woman to perform a sexual act without her consent while his security team barred her friend from intervening. Two days after the alleged assault, the victim reported the incident to authorities. TMZ has released videos purportedly showing McGregor escorting a woman into the bathroom surrounded by his bodyguards.

Attorney James Dunn, representing the accuser, stated, “After the Miami-Dade County Prosecutor’s Office declined to pursue criminal charges, filing a civil case became my client’s only avenue for justice.” Dunn added that the woman decided to come forward after her identity was leaked.

McGregor’s attorney, Barbara Llanes, dismissed the claims, asserting, “The State’s Attorney concluded there was no case to pursue after a thorough investigation. This new story, nearly two years later, is equally baseless. We are confident it will be dismissed.”

The accuser is seeking financial compensation for the alleged incident. Meanwhile, the inclusion of the Miami Heat in the lawsuit raises questions about institutional responsibility and the role of event security.

This case brings renewed scrutiny to McGregor, who has faced public controversies before. As the lawsuit unfolds, both parties are preparing for a contentious legal battle.
