Gold prices in Pakistan saw a sharp rise on Wednesday, mirroring an upward trend in the international bullion market.
The global price of gold increased by $29 per ounce, reaching $2,690, which subsequently pushed local gold rates higher.
In the local markets, the price of one tola of gold rose by Rs2,900, settling at Rs280,800. Similarly, the price for 10 grams of gold increased by Rs2,487, reaching Rs240,741.
The upward trajectory reflects continued demand for gold amid economic uncertainty. Traders predict that prices may remain volatile in the coming days.
A day earlier, the price per tola dropped by Rs1,400, settling at Rs277,900 in the local market. Similarly, the price of 10-gram gold fell by Rs1,201, closing at Rs238,254, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association.
