Cardi B accuses Offset of being 'jealous' and competing with her during their marriage
Cardi B has opened up about the tensions in her marriage to Offset, revealing that she felt her ex-husband was in direct competition with her during their relationship.
During a candid discussion with fans on X Spaces, Cardi expressed her disappointment, saying, "That just goes to tell me that you was jealous of me, and that's sad because you're supposed to be my f*cking partner."
She explained an instance that made her realize the level of competition, stating that Offset believed she was being competitive when she posted one of his albums and said, "I'm next." Cardi was taken aback by his interpretation, claiming, "I wasn't only competing with these btches, I was competing with my ni**a and I didn't even f**king know."
Responding to her ex's perspective, Cardi emphasized that she never intended to compete with him, particularly when promoting his work. Instead, she saw the situation as a reflection of Offset's feelings of rivalry towards her.
Cardi further described the emotional toll this had on her, adding, "You wanna talk about … you haven't accepted the divorce because you're not gonna agree on my terms because you just wanna see the kids."
The rapper also revealed some troubling details about her ongoing divorce proceedings. She explained that Offset hasn't signed the divorce papers yet, and shared an instance where he allegedly bought gifts for his other children during the holidays but intentionally left out the kids they share.
"By being spiteful towards me and my kids, I still got my as up and went to fcking work," she said, pointing to her determination to stay focused and strong despite the drama.
Cardi also mentioned other alleged acts of malice, including an incident where Offset and his mother supposedly "robbed" her, though she did not elaborate on the specifics. "Stop playing with me," she warned Offset.
Despite the back-and-forth and the pain of their breakup, Cardi B claimed that Offset’s efforts to ruin her were unsuccessful, stating, “A muthafcka thought he was gonna ruin my year and have me fcked up like they had me f*cked up last year, but I’m so strong.”
Cardi and Offset’s relationship has been tumultuous, with the couple initially marrying in 2017, filing for divorce in 2020, reconciling, and then parting ways again in 2024.
They share three children, including their eldest daughter Kulture, son Wave, and a newborn daughter.
