On January 14, Hayley Williams of Paramore along with bandmate, Zac Farro announced that she would be releasing her grandfather's lost debut album from the 1970. The album titled Grand Man includes 13 songs that were recorded more than fifty years ago but are being formally released now.
“So many people our age are mining these albums for tones and things you can’t even replicate," Hayley said in a press release statement, adding that "Grandat has a way of cutting to the core of a feeling, and not overcomplicating it. Which we tend to do, because the world is hard. It’s nice when you can hear something plain and simple and know that it is true.”
Meanwhile her grandfather, Rusty shared the album's first single titled "Knocking (At Your Door)".
“I don’t expect anything, and I’m too old to be famous,” Rusty said “But I just want to know someone liked what I did, and to be touched by whatever the hell they are listening to. I want people to see how it felt when things were real.”
Rusty who began writing music from a young age, also featured on the song "Crystal Clear," from Hayley's 2020 solo album Petals for Armor.
Grand Man comes out on February 14.
