The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) safely recovered a young woman kidnapped from Mahmoodabad from an apartment in Upper Gizri.
AVCC SSP Anil Haider said that the AVCC Police said the raid also resulted in the arrest of a female accused besides three men. Preliminary investigations revealed that the kidnappers had planned to take the girl to Punjab, but police thwarted their plan.
Meanwhile, regarding the short-term kidnapping of cryptocurrency dealer Arsalan, the SSP said eight suspects have been apprehended so far.
The kidnappers had hauled away Arsalan Malik from his home in the early hours of December 24 and emptied his account by resetting his phone stealing a whopping amount of $340,000 or Rs94,707,000.
Police have recovered Rs12 million in cash, prize bonds worth Rs900,000, and a Mercedes Benz valued at approximately Rs8 million. The AVCC continues to investigate the transfer of 340,000 dollars from the victim's cryptocurrency account to various other accounts. Raids are being conducted to apprehend the remaining fugitives.
