KARACHI:

The central committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has strongly criticised the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) for its failure to supply gas to domestic consumers in the metropolis, calling it a 'national crime' and a clear example of the institution's incompetence.

In the issued statement, the committee stated that the company's action has left citizens struggling to access necessities, forcing them to rely on expensive alternatives like cylinders or hotel food despite paying hefty bills. The fact that gas is not available as per the scheduled timeline and the lack of uninterrupted supply in the city is a stark testament to the institution's failure.

The committee further criticised the company's lack of strategy in managing its infrastructure, citing the inactivation of old lines and the digging up across the city to lay new ones without a clear plan.
