HYDERABAD:

Braving chilly weather, attendees flocked to the two-day Hyderabad Literature Festival (HLF), which began with a vibrant mix of literary sessions, book launches, and an art exhibition.

Renowned poet Akash Ansari inaugurated the event with a recitation of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai's ode, setting the tone for a culturally rich festival. Students from various schools welcomed the audience with an engaging tableau performance.

The first day featured discussions on diverse literary topics, book launches, and a captivating painting exhibition. Over the course of the festival, 45 sessions are scheduled, featuring experts and prominent personalities from various fields who will share their perspectives.

During his inaugural address, Akash Ansari reflected on the impact of artificial intelligence, describing the current age as one driven by ideas. "We are witnessing a world transformed by modern technology, and its future remains unpredictable," he remarked. He also highlighted the critical struggle in Sindh against the construction of six canals on the Indus River, urging all residents to participate in safeguarding the region's water resources. "Water is life; if it is taken away, we will have no alternative," he warned.

The Sindh Museum served as the festival's vibrant hub, attracting large crowds to book stalls, workshops, and art exhibits. Attendees expressed keen interest in exploring the variety of offerings on the festival's opening day, ensuring a lively and engaging atmosphere throughout the event.
