PMD forecasts a frosty week with cold winds from northwest

The port city experienced an increase in cold intensity on Sunday as the minimum temperature dropped to 9.8°C, marking one of the coldest mornings of the season.

The Pakistan Meteorolo-gical Department (PMD) stated that the city could face stronger-than-usual cold winds on Monday. These winds from the northwest were expected to further reduce temperatures, with the minimum mercury level forecast to touch 9°C.

Over the next 24 hours, Karachi's weather is predicted to remain cold and dry, with maximum temperatures peaking at 28°C and the minimum hovering around 9°C.

Mild fog has also reduced visibility to three kilometres, while northeastern winds are blowing at speeds of 5 to 20 km/h.

On Saturday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 12°C, highlighting the significant drop in temperatures overnight.

Karachiites have been advised to brace for colder mornings as the winter chill deepens, with stronger winds likely to contribute to the drop in temperatures.
