“It’s surreal to think I’m stepping into these shoes,” Grande said, referencing her admiration for Kristin Chenoweth’s original Glinda. “This role is a dream I’ve carried since childhood.”

Grande’s preparation for the role included months of vocal training and acting lessons, transforming her approach to embody the character’s soprano tones and emotional depth. “Pop singing and musical theater are so different,” she explained. “I had to retrain my muscles and reframe how I approached every note.”

The highly anticipated sequel, Wicked For Good, introduces a new song for Glinda, marking a pivotal moment in her character’s journey. “It’s a side of Glinda we’ve never seen before,” Grande teased.

While acting has dominated Grande’s recent years, she remains connected to her music career, hinting at a deluxe edition of her latest album, Eternal Sunshine. “It’s in the can,” she confirmed. However, she plans to release it when the timing feels right, emphasizing quality over quantity with the new tracks.

Grande also shared her excitement for future Broadway-to-film adaptations, expressing love for shows like The Drowsy Chaperone and Spamalot. As she focuses on storytelling through acting, Grande is content taking her time to explore new opportunities.
