Afghanistan's Taliban government on Saturday did not send its envoy to a global summit on the education of Muslim girls which was also attended by Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai.
The two-day conference hosted by Pakistan has brought together education officials from dozens of Muslim countries, but without Afghanistan — the only country in the world where girls are banned from school.
Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui had extended a formal invitation sent to the Afghan interim government to participate in the conference.
