PESHAWAR:

An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) has indicted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former provincial minister Kamran Bangash in the case of firing on a police party.

Bangash has denied the charges and the court has adjourned further hearings until January 20 while also summoning prosecution witnesses.

A special ATC court headed by Judge Asadullah held a hearing of the case during which the court was informed that on December 20, 2023, a Chamkani police station team had raided Kamran Bangash's guest house to arrest absconding PTI leader Murad Saeed.

During the raid, the court was told, Kamran Bangash and his accomplices had opened fire on the police party, injuring two policemen.
