Man kills father over land dispute in Multan

Woman janitor gang-raped at private bus stand near Nag Shah

MULTAN:

A man was shot dead by his son in the Shah Shams area of Multan over a family dispute and a property inheritance issue on Friday.

Police reported that the deceased, Riaz, a resident of Dera Muhammadi, had remarried, which caused ongoing tension between him and his son, Danish. Danish, demanding his share in the property, allegedly shot his father and fled the scene. Shah Shams police shifted the body to Nishtar Hospital and have initiated further legal proceedings.

Meanwhile, a woman working as a cleaner at a private bus stand near Nag Shah was allegedly gang-raped by two men.

Police have registered a case based on the victim's statement and are conducting raids to apprehend the suspects. The police said the victim's husband alerted them via the emergency helpline 15 after the incident, which occurred on January 7.

Initially hesitant to take legal action, the victim later filed a complaint, stating that her husband, Sohail, had demanded money upon her return home.

When she refused, a quarrel ensued, prompting a driver, Tanveer, to intervene and offer to mediate.

The woman alleged that Tanveer took her to his house under the pretense of resolving the matter but, along with an unidentified accomplice, sexually assaulted her.

Police have arrested one suspect and continued raids to apprehend the second.
