Pakistan women’s cricket team opener, Sidra Amin, is grieving the loss of her father.

The cricketer shared the sad news on social media, requesting prayers for her father’s soul from fans and fellow cricketers.

In her post, Sidra Amin wrote, "May Allah grant my father forgiveness and elevate his rank in Jannah, InshaAllah!" as she sought support during this difficult time.

The funeral prayer for her father will be held at 2:00 PM today, with close family members and relatives attending.

Sidra has played domestic cricket for Lahore, Higher Education Commission, Punjab, Omar Associates, and the State Bank of Pakistan, showcasing her consistent performance across formats.

Internationally, Sidra debuted in the 2013 ICC Women’s World Cup, playing four matches. She was later named in Pakistan’s squads for the ICC Women's T20 World Cup in 2018, the World Cup Qualifiers in 2021, and the Women’s Cricket World Cup in 2022.

Her breakthrough performances include a maiden ODI century against Bangladesh during the 2022 Women’s Cricket World Cup and a second century against Sri Lanka in June 2022. These milestones also helped her surpass the 1,000-run mark in her ODI career.

In 2024, she was named in Pakistan’s squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, further solidifying her role as a key player for the team.
